Justin Webb tossed a two-hit shutout and belted a three-run homer as the Patriots cruised to the six-inning nondistrict win. Ben Kotchish had two doubles and two RBIs, and Ben Law had an RBI single and scored a run for Patrick Henry (6-10).
Staunton River 9, Heritage 8
MONETA -- Staunton River (5-11, 2-9 Seminole District) scored three runs in the bottom of the 12th inning Friday night to rally and win the marathon affair.
Josh Frey scored the winning run when he scored from third base on a passed ball.
Justin Stump was 3-for-4 with 5 RBIs and hit a three-run homer in the first inning. Starting pitcher Chris Terry allowed just one during his 513-inning stretch. John Hill, who threw the last five innings, got the win.
Heritage fell to 9-7,. 6-4.
