LYNCHBURG -- Dillon Stith had 11 points and nine rebounds, and Anthony Reynolds added nine points and five assists to lead the Minutemen on Thursday.

The Minutemen, who have already clinched the district title, remained unbeaten in league play.

Glass was led by Najee Culver with 13 points.

Robey Coffey scored 12 points and Zack Stinnett added 10 for the Fighting Blues. Chad Lipes scored 11 points and Michael Myers 10 for Covington.

Hody Viars led the Pioneers with 16 points. Michael Dunford and Jared Smith had 12 apiece.

District meets

River Ridge District

RADFORD -- Hidden Valley's girls swept three relays and won five of the eight individual events to win the River Ridge District meet Thursday at Radford University's Dedmon Center.

The Titans outscored second-place Blacksburg 173-114. Cave Spring (100) was third.

Drew Dillon (50 freestyle, 100 freestyle) won two events for the Titans.

Cave Spring's Ali Horn (200 IM, 100 butterfly) also was a double winner.

In the boys division, Cave Spring's Luke Munson (50 freestyle, 100 freestyle) and Jacob Siar (200 IM, 100 backstroke) won double titles.

Hidden Valley's Mark Adams (200 freestyle, 500 freestyle) and Salem's Austin Criss (100 butterfly, 100 breaststroke) also were two-time winners.

Hidden Valley, which won two of the three relays, topped Cave Spring 154-113 for the team title. Salem (96) was third.

Pioneer District

COVINGTON -- Jon Chilcott (125 pounds), Kyle King (140), Ryan Hepler (145), Jonny Falls (152) and Dylan Newcomb (215) all recorded pins as James River won eight weight classes en route to the district tournament title.

Tyler Gore (119), Creek Turner (160) and Dylan Johnson (189) also took individual titles as James River outscored Parry McCluer 187-149. Covington was third with 105 12.

Charlie Dickson (103), Chris Bowden (130) and Devonte Laws (285) won titles for Covington. Aaron Beverly (135) and Matt Dawson (171) were winners for Parry McCluer.

Southwest District

GRUNDY -- Host Grundy won 10 of 14 weight classes and cruised to its 27th consecutive district championship.

Austin Compton (103), Sean Vandyke (112), Jeremy Hurley (119), Dakota Vance (130), John Dotson (135), Ethan Owens (140), Cody Rife (145), Tyler McClanahan (160), Tanner McClanahan (171) and Daniel Lowe (215) won titles for the Golden Wave.

Marion's Nick Groseclose won the 189-pound title.

Grundy outscored Richlands 286-146 12. Abingdon was third with 132, followed by Marion (130), Tazewell (127 12), Carroll County (119 12) and Graham (82).

Southern Valley District

STUARTS DRAFT -- R.E. Lee-Staunton had five individual champions and edged Rockbridge County for the team championship.

Rockbridge's Matt Hoofnagle won the 135-pound title with a 10-3 decision over Lee's James Huffman.

Lee outscored Rockbridge 195-158 in the team standings. Stuarts Draft and Fort Defiance tied for third at 157.

INDOOR TRACK

District meets

Blue Ridge District

LYNCHBURG -- William Byrd's boys and Northside's girls won team titles in the district meet at Liberty University.

Northside's boys had two double winners -- Philip Scott in the 55 meters (6.67) and 300 (37.31), and Anthony Oliver in the long jump (20-5 14) and triple jump (40-1).

The Northside girls got two wins apiece from Erin Wheeler in the 1,600 (5:36.02) and 3,200 (12:10.25), and Candice Smith in the long jump (15-7) and triple jump (32-9).

Lord Botetourt's Charquia Wright won the 55 (7.57) and 300 (44.85) and was second in two other events.

Northside edged Botetourt 159-147 in the girls meet, while Byrd topped Alleghany 140-95 on the boys side.
