Blue Ridge District boys basketball player of the year Rick Alderman, a first-team All-Timesland pick, has made an oral commitment to Concord (W.Va.) University.

Alderman, a 6-foot-4 forward, averaged 21.4 points and 7.9 rebounds per game while shooting 62.1 percent from the field.

Botetourt coach Jon Cook said Alderman chose Concord over an offer from Division II Tusculum (Tenn.), NAIA Grace (Ind.) and Air Force Academy Prep.

Alderman's teammate, 6-foot-3 guard Hunter Foley, will spend next season at Hargrave Military Academy.

Foley averaged 17.3 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, while hitting 49 3-pointers.
