After one baseball game, Eastern Montgomery High has changed coaches.

Dave Sisson is out as of last week, replaced by Paul Johnson, promoted from the assistant's job. Sisson resigned, according to EastMont athletic director Tracy Poff. Sisson said he was told he was fired over disciplinary issues with the players and because the program was not going in the right direction.

Sisson's two-year record was 2-14-1.

Johnson, 22, is a Roanoke College senior who played three years for the Maroons. He also played for Chantilly High School. Johnson said he'd planned to teach and coach as a career.

"This is a great way to get my foot in the door," he said.
