High school roundup: Blacksburg comes back strong to edge Lord Botetourt
BLACKSBURG -- Down 17 points with 1:40 remaining in the third quarter, Blacksburg's girls basketball staged a big comeback on the way to a 46-43 win over Lord Botetourt on Saturday.
Led by Katy Kipps' 21 points, Blacksburg started attacking the basket in the fourth quarter and had six different players score. The Bruins outscored the Cavaliers 19-8 in the fourth quarter.
Alisha Lyle led Lord Botetourt with 14 points.

Morgan Allen scored 19 points, Abby Thomas added 13 and Northside shot close to 40 percent for the first time this season in a victory over Hidden Valley.
The Vikings played good defense, holding the Titans to under 10 points in each quarter.
Hidden Valley pressed the whole time, but Northside worked its way through the press to score nine layups in the first half. All of Northside's points in the second half came off layups.
Kelsey Crotty led Hidden Valley with 11 points.

Highlander Invitational
Northside's wrestling team won the overall championship at the Highlander Invitational at Glenvar High School on Saturday with a team score of 227.5.
Castlewood followed in second place with 153.5, just edging out third-place Glenvar's 151.5.
The Highlanders boasted the most first-place finishers with four, while Radford had three.
Covington's Chad Sizemore was named most outstanding wrestler after securing the championship in the 130-pound division.
