Warriors top Halifax
RIDGEWAY -- Darius Dalton had 21 of his 25 points in the second half, and Magna Vista did enough at the free-throw line to hold off a furious fourth-quarter rally by the Comets and defeated Halifax County 87-83 on Tuesday.
Dalton, who hit 7-of-11 free throws in the fourth quarter, had eight points in the third, when the Warriors opened up a 16-point lead. Alexander Patterson added 19 for Magna Vista.
Justin Dillard scored 17 and Gervelle Kidd finished with 11.
Durrell Chandler had 24 points to lead Halifax County, 15 of those came in the Comets' 33-point fourth quarter.

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. -- Kalleon Moret had 18 points and Jamar Brown added 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Celtics in the second game of the Landair Classic basketball tournament on Wednesday.
The Celtics (2-0), who play Fulton High School out of Knoxville today, led 47-23 at the half.
On Monday, Clarence Turpin had 20 points and Stephen Allman added 17 in the Celtics' win over Red Bank, Tenn.
Arche' Hicklin added 16 points and 11 rebounds.
