BUCHANAN -- Candace Berra scored on Abbie Rexrode's double in the third inning and that was all James River (11-4, 7-0) needed.
Rexrode tossed her second consecutive no-hitter for the Knights, who clinched the Pioneer District title.
Lauren Osborne went 3-for-3 for James River.
Western Valley District
Franklin County 8, Patrick Henry 3
ROCKY MOUNT -- Sadie Wallace had two triples and three RBIs for the Eagles.
Shi-Shi Hancock had two hits and one RBI for the Eagles (12-3, 6-1).
Grace Putney had two hits and two RBIs for PH (7-8, 3-3).

Carroll County 2, Tazewell 0
HILLSVILLE -- Rebecca Thomas pitched a three-hitter, striking out nine and walking two, to lead the Cavaliers to victory. Kendra Galyean had two hits and two RBIs for Carroll County (5-9, 3-4).

BUENA VISTA -- Christine Winston collected four RBIs on three hits to lead the Fighting Blues (8-7, 1-3).
Kayla Harmon, Sarah Harmon and Amber Bolen each scored three runs for Parry McCluer.
Hannah Patterson and Tiffany Ingram scored two runs apiece for Rockbridge County.
River Ridge District
William Byrd 7, Christiansburg 4
CHRISTIANSBURG -- Jamie Green went 2-for-4 with two RBIs to lead the Terriers on Wednesday.
Nicole Hinkley, Brittany Broyles and Sara Martin drove in runs for the Blue Demons.

River Ridge District
Blacksburg 6, Pulaski County 4, 8 innings
DUBLIN -- Greg Juanarema and Joey Phillips both hit solo home runs in the top of the eighth inning Thursday to help Blacksburg (11-5, 4-2)
The Bruins held a 4-1 lead going into the bottom of the seventh, but the Cougars (10-5, 3-3) rallied to force extra innings with the help of a two-run double from Jared King.
Trey Gresh went 3-for-4 and scored two runs lead the Bruins.
Pioneer District
James River 16, Covington 0, 5 innings
BUCHANAN -- Oliver Surprenant had a double and 4 RBIs, while both Ryan Hepler and Tyler Duke added three hits and three RBIs apiece to lead the Knights (12-3, 6-0).
Caleb Dorton added two hits and two RBIs for James River. Aaron Allen got the win, striking out four and allowed just four hits.
Southern Valley District
Rockbridge County 9, Waynesboro 7
LEXINGTON -- Scott Evans hit the first of six consecutive singles in the four-run third inning for the Wildcats (5-11, 2-4).
Evans knocked in two more runs with a single in the fourth, while Tyler Staton added a RBI single in the fifth.
Ryan Miller went 513 innings, allowing two earned runs on six hits, to hand the Little Giants (13-4, 6-1) their first district loss of the season.
Virginia Independent Conference
Hargrave Academy 6, North Cross 3
CHATHAM -- The Raiders (9-8, 6-7) led early, but Hargrave (12-6, 9-1) took a 3-2 lead in the third and never trailed again.
Craig Hoelzer had two hits and an RBI for North Cross. Sam Lawrence had a sacrifice fly.

Grayson County 13, Carroll County 3, 5 inn.
INDEPENDENCE -- Bo Pollard went 3-for-3 and came up a home run short of the cycle as the Blue Devils (12-3) coasted.
Pollard finished the game with four RBIs, while Tyler Rutherford and Zack Jones each had two hits for Grayson County.
Brent Hall led the Cavaliers with a solo home run.

Patrick Henry 5, Franklin County 0
Fayanga Keita and Malik Danjo scored two goals apiece as the Patriots (9-3-1, 6-0-1) rolled by the Eagles (3-9-1, 2-5).
Cameron Chavira also scored a goal for Patrick Henry.
Patrick Henry 3, E.C. Glass 3
LYNCHBURG -- Fayanga Keita scored all three goals for PH, including the equalizer with about 15 minutes remaining, as the Patriots rallied for a draw Wednesday.
The Patriots trailed 2-0 just five minutes into the game.

Josue Argueta scored all three goals for the Highlanders (6-2, 3-2).
Chris Lofton made 16 saves to shut out the Eagles (8-6, 2-5).

RADFORD -- Erik Amy three goals to lead the Bobcats (9-1, 4-0) to victory.
William Saunders had a goal and three assists.

Alleghany 7, James River 1
LOW MOOR -- Ryan Peters netted two goals and five other Alleghany players scored to help the Mountaineers (9-2) pick up a win.
Brett Perkey scored on a penalty kick late in the second half for James River (4-7-1).

ROCKY MOUNT -- Kate Norbo scored both goals to give Patrick Henry (7-6-1, 3-2-1) the win.

RADFORD -- Pip Pattison notched a hat trick, and Mary Wiley added a goal and two assists to lead Radford (9-2, 3-0).
Cece Scott and Kylee Chatham also scored goals for the Bobcats.
Seminole District
Staunton River 4, Brookville 0
BROOKVILLE -- Kimmi D'Aiuto and Courtney Dearing both scored within the first 15 minutes of play and the Golden Eagles (10-2, 6-2) never looked back.
Katie Brown and Lauren Thumann added goals for Staunton River.
Yasmine Higgins made nine saves for the Bees (5-5, 2-5)

AMHERST -- Maggie Rawlins scored 10 minutes into the game to put the Minettes (6-4, 5-2) up for good.
Aspen Rautio and Rachel Asbury also scored. Molly Mansel added two assists.
Liberty outshot Amherst County (3-7, 2-5) 13-5.

Courtney Long scored three goals to lead the host Highlanders (8-1).
