Spartans rout Buffs
PEARISBURG -- Senior guard Cody Griffith had a game-high 20 points and eight assists to lead the Giles boys' basketball team to a 66-39 Three Rivers District victory over Floyd County.
Giles, which also got 10 points apiece from Jarrod Alls and Mario Jones, led 21-8 after one quarter and cruised.
Nathan Courtney's 11 points paced Floyd County.

BEDFORD -- Carlton Payne and Chris Harmon each scored 14 points to lead Liberty while Kordero Thompson added 11 points and Martrey Stevens scored 10.
Liberty took advantage of a fast start, outscoring Rustburg 13-1 to start the game.
Payne added 15 rebounds and three blocks for the Minutemen and Thompson recorded five steals, five assists and six rebounds.

DUBLIN -- Ambrose Jones scored a career-high 31 points and canned six 3-pointers to lead the Cougars past the Spartans.
Jones spiced a strong show with six steals and six rebounds and 7-for-7 night at the free-throw line.
T.T. Webb contributed 19 points and Raiven Patterson added 16 points for the Cougars.
Ryan Rotanz paced the Spartans with 20 points. Kenzie Poindexter had 14 points and Emily Richardson 11 for Salem.

FOREST -- Mandy Dix scored on a breakaway layup with seven seconds left to secure the Cavaliers' victory.
Altavista had a final chance to tie the game, but a desperation 3-point shot from midcourt was awry.
Dix led Jefferson Forest with 18 points. Tie Harrison contributed 15 for the winners.
Brooke Short and Latoya Tucker had 14 points each for Altavista.

BUCHANAN -- Greer Sullivan's 10 points paced a balanced scoring attack as the Knights downed the Chargers to remain unbeaten in district play.
Elizabeth Pentecost had eight points and eight rebounds for James River, which outscored the visitors 13-5 in the second quarter to break the game open.

Jeneka Hunt had two of her three 3-pointers in the fourth and finished with a team-high 15 points for the Chiefs.
Nicole Collins had a double-double for Oak Hill with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Rachelle Coward led the Warriors with 23 points.
