Missed extra point costs Ferrum

The Wolverines built a 14-0 lead in the first quarter off a 33-yard scoring run by Kevin Nelson and a 16-yard TD pass from Chris Warrick to Josh Kline. But Ferrum bounced back in the quarter with 14 of its own on a 10-yard scoring run from Dustin Hamoy and a 35-yard connection from Jermaine Pitts to Chris Silk. Ken Busch's 1-yard scoring run put Wesley up in the second quarter and the Wolverines held a 21-14 advantage until the fourth. Pitts' 50-yard TD pass to Hamoy tied it up for Ferrum with 11:20 left.
Nelson, who ran 24 times for 192 yards, reeled off a 52-yard scoring run with 10:07 remaining gave the Wolverines a 27-21 lead and Chris Carlton's extra point was the winning margin.
Pitts was 9-for-15 for 212 yards with an interception and he ran for 51 yards. Hamoy led the way with 76 of the Panthers' 280 rushing yards.
McDaniel 14,
Bridgewater 11
WESMINSTER, Md. - The No.7 Eagles' last-gasp drive ended with an interception on the McDaniel 14-yard line with 24 seconds.
Bridgewater took possession with 2:19 remaining following a failed 36-yard field goal attempt by McDaniel's Nate Getchell. Quarterback Brandon Wakefield marched the Eagles down the field without any timeouts, converting two fourth-down conversions, before his errant pass was picked off by linebacker Joe Giusti to seal the upset.
The Green Terror scored its first touchdown on a 22-yard pass from Brad Baer to John Green and it took a 14-0 lead early in the second half when Baer hit Jamie Unger for a 37-yard score.
Bridgewater responded with a 39-yard field goal by David Blackwell and notched a touchdown on its next possession when Marcus Washington ran it in from 12 yards out. The Eagles converted a two-point conversion when Wakefield hit Washington in the right flat.
Bridgewater led nearly every statistical category, running 74 plays for 394 yards compared to 50 plays for 253 yards for McDaniel.

SEWANEE, Tenn. - Running back CWClemmons had 145 yards of total offense and scored a pair of touchdowns to lead the 20th-ranked Tigers.
Clemmons rushed for 74 yards on nine carries and one score. He caught five balls out of the backfield for 71 yards and a touchdown.
Johnny Junes also had two rushing touchdowns and preseason All-American quarterback J.D. Ricca threw for 219 yards and two TDs for Hampden-Sydney.
JMU 62, Lock Haven 7
HARRISONBURG - Justin Rascati threw for three touchdowns and Maurice Fenner ran for 165 yards and a score for James Madison.
The Dukes piled up 609 yards of total offense, 352 on the ground, while holding Division II Lock Haven (1-1) to 198 total yards.
Rascati completed touchdown passes of 8 yards to Tahir Hinds, 13 yards to Will Patrick and 10 yards to D.D. Boxley. He also scored the Dukes' first TD on a 2-yard run.
Fenner's 83-yard touchdown run in the second quarter was the fourth longest run in James Madison history.
Alvin Banks added 108 yards on 15 carries for the Dukes and scored on runs of 2 and 3 yards.
Rascati was 10-of-18 for 136 yards. Matt LeZotte came off the bench to complete 8-of-13 for 121 yards and a touchdown.
Hampton 38,
Jackson State 19
HAMPTON - In a game moved from Florida to Virginia because of Hurricane Frances, the Pirates looked right at home, led by Alonzo Coleman's three rushing touchdowns.
Coleman scored on runs of 5, 62 and 73 yards. He finished with 212 yards on 21 carries. Ardell Daniels added 74 yards rushing on 20 carries for Hampton.
Prince Sheperd and Kerry Dixon each threw touchdowns for the Pirates. Sheperd went 10-for-16 for 112 yards and Dixon was 6-for-8 for 72 yards.
Salisbury 31, Catholic 14
WASHINGTON - Salisbury blocked two punts and returned another for a touchdown in the second quarter to defeat Catholic.
Leroy Satchell ran for 104 of Salisbury's 235 rushing yards and scored two touchdowns. Byron Westbrook scored on a 68-yard punt return and Chris Barr set up Satchell's second TD from 17 yards with a blocked punt to put the Sea Gulls on top 17-0.
Cardinals freshman quarterback Gregg Nejmah completed 15 of 35 passes for 140-yards and two TDs.
Randolph-Macon 20,
Chowan 10
MURFREESBORO, N.C. - Randolph-Macon wide receiver Casey Maher caught a pair of touchdown passes and kicker David Ping booted two field goals for the Yellow Jackets.
The Yellow Jackets win gives first-year head coach Pedro Arruza his first collegiate coaching victory.
Liberty 55,
West Virginia Tech 17
LYNCHBURG - Marcus Hamilton and Dre Barnes each rushed for two touchdowns as the Flames torched West Virginia Tech with 28 first-quarter points.
Hamilton carried 11 times for 109 yards and Barnes rushed 11 times for 83 yards. Eugene Goodman also ran in a touchdown and finished with 115 rushing yards on 17 carries.
Liberty piled up 317 yards on the ground on 45 carries while holding West Virginia Tech to 145 rushing on 35 carries.
West Virginia Tech quarterback Chris Siegel went 20-for-35 for 284 yards and two touchdowns and an interception.
