Ellenbogen ousted
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — Sue Kim defeated Blacksburg’s Courtney Ellenbogen 3 and 2 in the first round of the U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship at The Hartford Golf Club.
Virginias take victory
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — A 24-player team of golfers from Virginia and West Virginia completed a wire-to-wire victory over opponents from North Carolina and South Carolina in the 52nd Virginias-Carolinas Women’s Team Matches at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club.
Kameron Carter (Bassett), Jessica Hollandsworth (Floyd), Dot Bolling (Salem) and Misha Harvey (Forest) and Fran Hensley (Ridgeway) were the locals on the team.
