David Hopkins defeats Randolph Scott

David Hopkins defeats Randolph Scott

Majority decision (40-36, 40-36, 38-38)

n Hopkins, who trains at Roanoke's Gator Gym, came out strong with a good right hand in the second round of the welterweight bout, then hurt Scott (Salisbury, Md.) with a left hook to the chin later in the round. From there, Scott (0-2) wrapped up a lot and Hopkins (1-0) had fewer chances to punch and didn't get the knockout he said he wanted.

Unanimous decision (39-36, 40-35, 39-36)

n Sigmon (Bedford) was undaunted by the demon mask that Shull (Winchester) wore into the ring for the light heavyweight bout. After trading punches and matching showboating skills, Sigmon (2-1) took control of the fight and knocked Shull (0-4) down in the third round with a right hand to the temple.

Dorin Spivey defeats Edward Anderson

Unanimous decision (40-36, 40-36, 40-36) n Spivey (Virginia Beach) was solid in his return after an 18-month hiatus. Spivey (35-5) and Anderson (4-13) fought a technically sound fight. Spivey clearly won each round of the light welterweight bout.

Bayan Jargnal defeats Maurice Chalmers

TKO (2:46 third round)

n Jargnal (Arlington) controlled the scheduled six-round welterweight bout from the outset against Chalmers (Lynchburg). Jargnal (7-0) knocked Chalmers (7-8) down in the third, then went after and landed a flurry of punches with Chalmers against the ropes before the referee stopped the fight.
