WDBJ gets OK for Yanks-Hokies

Major League Baseball, the Baltimore Orioles and Washington Nationals have granted permission for WDBJ-7 to televise the New York Yankees’ exhibition at Virginia Tech on March 18, Yankees spokesman Jason Zillo said Wednesday.

Tech had also requested that CSN be allowed to air the simulcast of the Yankees’ YES Network telecast so a broader TV audience could watch, but associate athletic director Jon Jaudon said MLB did not sign off on that.

Fans also will be able to watch the 3 p.m. game on mlb.com.; there will be a link to it on hokiesports.com.

The only radio station that will air the game is WBRW-105.3 FM in Blacksburg. But the radio broadcast will be simulcast on hokietv.com.
