Virginia Tech announced that Ahmed Hill had surgery on his left leg today to repair a partial tear of his patella tendon. He suffered the injury in individual workouts this month.

Malik Mueller, who played for Virginia Tech as a redshirt freshman last season, has turned pro and signed with a team in his native Germany, according to Twitter reports from European Prospects and other sites about European basketball.

I talked today to Jody Bailey, the coach at Jacksonville (Junior) College in Texas, about 7-foot, 210-pound sophomore center Johnny Hamilton. Bailey said Hamilton, a native of Trinidad, signed with Virginia Tech on Wednesday night.
