BLACKSBURG — An offensive showcase wasn’t expected Saturday in Virginia Tech’s spring game, not with the uncertainty at quarterback and certainly not with the way the Hokies split up the teams, with a mix of first- and second-teamers working alongside one another on both sides.

Running back Joel Caleb’s 27-yard touchdown run on the opening drive was one of only a few offensive highlights in the White team’s mundane 7-3 victory against the Maroon squad.
