Georgia Tech's Jeremiah Attaochu is moving to defensive end after playing linebacker last year. The move was made necessary when the Yellow Jackets sacked Al Groh as defensive coordinator and hired Ted Roof, who is switching from a 3-4 defensive front to a 4-3.

Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd led the Tigers’ 25-24 rally over LSU in the Chick-fil-A Bowl to close out last season.

The ACC football media predicted Clemson would win the championship in its preseason poll. With the Tigers winning the Coastal Division over Virginia Tech, and the Cavaliers finishing sixth in the division with not much respect given to either team's talent (Tech, Virginia land 1 each on preseason All-ACC team).
