Virginia’s marquee nonconference football game against Oregon this fall will get a prime TV slot, one of two dozen early-season kickoff times the ACC announced Thursday.
The Cavaliers’ game against the Ducks in Scott Stadium on Sept. 7 will start at 3:30 p.m. and be broadcast on ABC regionally and ESPN2 outside of the region.
Virginia’s home opener against BYU the previous week on Aug. 31 will also be a 3:30 p.m. kickoff on ESPNU.
Virginia Tech’s home opener Sept. 7 against Western Carolina, meanwhile, will start at 1:30 p.m. and be broadcast online on ESPN3.
That’s the fourth game time the Hokies have set for 2013. They open the season in Atlanta against Alabama at 5:30 p.m. on ESPN. On Sept. 14, they have a noon game at East Carolina on Fox Sports Net. Their Thursday night Sept. 26 game at Georgia Tech is a 7:30 p.m. start on ESPN.
Other game times will be announced as the matchups get closer.
The league also announced that the ACC Championship game Dec. 7 in Charlotte will start at either 7:45 p.m. on ESPN or 8 p.m. on ABC.
