BRIDGEWATER - Alleghany graduate Cassidy Burns had a career-high 11 catches for 193 yards and one touchdown to help Bridgewater beat Ferrum 51-28 on Saturday.
Ferrum (0-3) allowed 538 yards of total offense. BC (3-0) jumped to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter and led the rest of the way.
BC's Willie Logan threw for a career-high 350 yards and two TDs with one interception, while Jacob Wright ran for 97 yards and three TDs.
Tim Reynolds of Ferrum threw a 13-yard TD pass to cut the lead to 34-28 late in the third quarter, but BC answered with a field goal. Reynolds was picked off at the BC 4 on Ferrum's next series,
Reynolds completed 11 of 24 passes for 166 yards and one TD with two interceptions. He also ran for two TDs. Teammate Tae Gilbert (Franklin County) ran for 92 yards and one TD.
Centre 37, Washington and Lee 28
DANVILLE, Ky. - Heath Haden threw for 377 yards and two TDs to lead the Colonels (3-0) to a win over the Generals (1-1).
W&L led 14-0 after the first quarter but was outscored 34-7 in the second quarter.
Centre had 511 yards of total offense. W&L ran for 422 yards, but Nick Lombardo was 0 of 8 passing with one interception.
Marshall Hollerith of W&L scored on a 9-yard run to cut the lead to 34-28 with 11:06 to go, but Centre answered with a field goal. Dillon Stanfield fumbled the ball away on W&L's next series.
Luke Terna ran for 157 yards and two TDs for W&L, with Lombardo rushing for 101 yards and one TD.
Harry Meisner ran for 115 yards and three TDs for Centre.
Randolph-Macon 36, Bethany 28
BETHANY, W.Va. - Will McGhee rushed for 296 yards and three touchdowns on 42 carries as the Yellow Jackets (2-1) overcame the Bison (0-3).
Zac Naccarato passed for 165 yards and one interception on ten attempts.
Bethany was led by Matt Grimard who went 17 of 38 for 223 yards and one touchdown.
Emory & Henry 61, Methodist 22
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Kyle Boden went 29-31 for 382 yards and five touchdowns as the Wasps (3-0) rolled the Monarchs (2-1).
Receiver Josh Smith caught 12 passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns for Emory and Henry. Teammate Chris Edwards ran for 104 yards and one touchdown on six carries, giving him an average of 16.7 yards per touch.
The Wasps led 22-0 after the first quarter following two passing scores from Boden. The quarterback also rushed for a two-point conversion and again for another TD.
Greensboro 34, Apprentice 21
NEWPORT NEWS - Warren Scott ran for 145 yards and two touchdowns as the Pride (1-2) defeated the Builders (0-3).
Pride running back Cortez Vernon ran for 58 yards and two touchdowns on 11 attempts.
The Builders were led by Jonathon Whelan who went 13-30 for 145 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.
Univ. of Charleston 38, UVa-Wise 15
WISE - Leighton Settle rushed for 128 yard on 17 carries as the Golden Eagles (1-2) defeated the Cavaliers (0-3).
UVa-Wise was led by quarterback Tyler Ryans who completed 9 of 19 passes for 142 yards, but threw four interceptions.
Richmond 30, Liberty 21
RICHMOND - Jacobi Green finished with 181 yards on 24 carries as the Spiders (2-2) defeated the Flames (2-2).
Richmond quarterback Michael Strauss went 20 of 34 for 210 yards and one touchdown and teammate Ben Edwards caught nine balls for 101 yards.
Cave Spring grad Josh Woodrum went 23 of 42 for 241 yards with one touchdown on the ground and one in the air. Flames running back Desmond Rice ran for 106 and one touchdown on 12 carries.
JMU 34, Charlotte 7
HARRISONBURG - Dea'Quan Scott rushed for 176 yards and two touchdowns on 35 carries as the Dukes (3-1) routed the newly founded 49ers (2-2).
Quarterback Michael Birdsong went 20 of 28 for 201 yards and one touchdown as the Dukes scored 34 straight points in response to an early 7-0 deficit.
Old Dominion 59, Citadel 58
NORFOLK - The Bulldogs (1-3) failed to get in on a late two-point conversion as the Monarchs (2-2) held on.
Taylor Heinicke went 35 of 42 for ODU and finished with 363 yards and three touchdown passes. Teammate Colby Goodwyn ran for 94 yards and one touchdown on 16 carries.
Quarterback Ben Dupree ran for 149 yards and five touchdowns on 24 carries and threw for 133 yards and one touchdown for the Citadel. Running back Darian Robinson ran for 227 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries.
Charleston Southern 20, Norfolk State 12
NORFOLK - Ben Robinson ran for 98 yards and one touchdown as the Buccaneers (4-0) defeated the Spartans (0-3).
Rolandan Finch led Norfolk State with 108 yards rushing on 20 attempts.
Coastal Carolina 50, Hampton 17
CONWAY - Lorenzo Taliaferro rushed for 99 yards and two scores as the Catamounts (4-0) defeated the Pirates (0-4).
Alex Ross went 12-21 for 124 yards and one touchdown for Coastal Carolina, which led 40-0 at one point.
Hampden-Sydney 49, Coast Guard 7
NEW LONDON, Conn. - Runningback Brady Macko rushed for 63 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries as the Tigers (3-1) walloped the Bears (0-3).
Quarterback Nash Nance passed for 282 yards and two touchdowns, completing 20 of 34. Holton Walker hauled in eight catches for 180 yards and one TD.
Virginia State 41, Kentucky State 0
ETTRICK - Justin Thorpe rushed for two touchdowns as the Trojans (2-1) defeated the Thoroughbreds (2-1).
Virginia State racked up 254 yards of rushing in the shutout win.
Christopher Newport 34, Shenandoah 6
NEWPORT NEWS - Rudy Rudolph caught three passes for 145 yards and two touchdowns as the Captains (3-0) defeated the Hornets (1-2).
Quarterback Lyndon Garner went 9 of 11 for 219 yards and two touchdowns and teammate Paul Dykes ran for 107 yards on 17 attempts.
Shenandoah was led by Justin Neff who went 12 of 20 for 138 yards and one touchdown.
William & Mary 20, Rhode Island 0
WILLIAMSBURG - Michael Graham went 13-20 for 155 yards and one touchdown as the Tribe (3-1) shut out the Rams (1-3).
Mikal Abdul-Saboor rushed for 108 yards on 26 carries.
Averett 30, Guilford 27
GREENSBORO, N.C. - Guilford missed a 22-yard field goal with five seconds remaining as the Cougars (1-2) defeated the Quakers (1-2).
Ray Brown had 26 carries for 90 yards and a TD for Averett. Dante' Pinkston had a touchdown reception and rushed for another.
