College sports: Roanoke rallies for men's soccer win

Tyler Carbaugh scored off of an assist from Adam Yesbeck in the 98th minute and Roanoke College went on to a 2-1 come-from-behind men's soccer victory over Richard Stockton on Saturday.

The Maroons (2-0) trailed 1-0 at the half, but tied the score in the 56th minute on a Johnny Hughes goal.

Roanoke outshot Richard Stockton 17-10.

MEN'S SOCCER

W&L 1, Case Western Reserve 1

GRANVILLE, Ohio - Al Organ scored off of a Zach Colby assist to even the score for Washington and Lee (0-0-2) against Case Western Reserve (0-0-2).

Albert Civitarese made seven saves for the Generals.

WOMEN'S SOCCER

Roanoke 3, Birmingham-Southern 0

Ashley Barnes scored in the fifth minute and the host Maroons went on to win their season opener at the Roanoke Invitational.

Marlana Barnard and Courtney Yoke also scored for Roanoke. Richelle Byrd made four saves.

W&L 2, Dallas 1

LEXINGTON - Lauren Abraham and Katie Rossi scored for the Generals (2-0), who outshot the University of Dallas 22-6.

Addie Healy made two saves for W&L.
