LEXINGTON -- Former VMI basketball star Reggie Williams is on the move again in the NBA.

Williams, who played the last two seasons with the Charlotte Bobcats after 1 1/2 seasons with Golden State, signed a multi-year contract with the Rockets, the club announced Friday.

Williams, VMI's all-time leading scorer, has averaged 8.6 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists in his NBA career.

In 2010-11, the Prince George, Va., native ranked ninth in the NBA in 3-point field goal percentage (.423) while playing for Golden State.

Williams is the second VMI basketball alumnus to reach the NBA, joining late 1970s star Ron Carter, who played for the Los Angeles Lakers and Indiana Pacers.
