Tigers pull away from Maroons

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY -- George Harrison poured in 24 points off the bench on 10-of-13 shooting from the floor, and Turner King scored 20 points, including 18 in the second half Wednesday, as Hampden-Sydney pulled away late for a 90-76 Old Dominion Athletic Conference victory over Roanoke College.
The Tigers (3-1, 1-0 ODAC) went on a 14-0 run after Roanoke's Matt Critzer hit a three-pointer to tie the game at 65 with less than seven minutes remaining.
Critzer led the Maroons (3-2, 0-1) with 16 points, while Michael McGeough added 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Bridgewater 68, Washington and Lee 64
LEXINGTON -- Dominic Trawick scored 16 points, including a putback that put the Eagles ahead for good, and Jake Johnson added 11 points as Bridgewater (3-2, 1-0 ODAC) held off a furious rally by the Generals (4-2, 1-1).
Doug Poetzsch scored a career-high 11 points to lead W&L, which fought back from a 55-32 deficit with 9:28 remaining to take 62-61 with 1:08 to play.
Georgia Tech 74, Siena 61
ATLANTA -- Freshman Mfon Udofia scored a career-high 26 points and Derrick Favors, who is also a freshman, finished with 16 points to lead the Yellow Jackets (5-1).
Clarence Jackson led Siena (4-3) with 19 points.
No. 1 Kansas 98, Alcorn State 31
LAWRENCE, Kan. -- Cole Aldrich had 13 points and 16 rebounds, and the top-ranked Jayhawks scored 36 straight points in the first half against the Braves (0-10).
Kansas (6-0) forced a school record-tying 30 turnovers and dunking its way within one of the NCAA record for consecutive points with its big run.

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Matt Bouldin scored a career-high 28 points as the Zags rallied past the Cougars.
Elias Harris added 24 points and 12 rebounds for Gonzaga (6-1).
No. 3 Villanova 77, Drexel 58
VILLANOVA, Pa. -- Antonio Pena scored a career-high 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, and Taylor King added 16 points as the Wildcats (7-0) overcame a sluggish start.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tyler Smith scored 15 points and the Volunteers held off the scrappy Buccaneers.
Justin Tubbs led the ETSU (4-4) with 22 points.

HARTFORD, Conn. -- Jerome Dyson scored 22 points and Kemba Walker had 15 points and 10 assists to pace the Huskies (5-1).
John Holland led the Terriers (2-6) with 23 points.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Jerry Smith broke out of a shooting slump to score 17 points to lead the Cardinals (5-1).
A.J. Smith led the Hatters (2-5) with 18 points.

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Shelvin Mack had 15 points, including four 3-pointers in the first six minutes of the game for the Bulldogs (5-2).
WOMEN
West Virginia 64, Radford 28
MORGANTOWN, WVa. -- Liz Repella scored 13 points for the Mountaineers (6-1), as all 10 West Virginia players scored.
Denay Wood scored 10 points for Radford (0-5), which shot just 16.7 percent (8-48) from the field and fell behind 11-0 in the first six minutes of the game.
Guilford 55, Washington and Lee 52
Sophomore guard Jazlyn Gibbs scored 14 points and hit a three-pointer with six seconds remaining to lift the Quakers (3-3, 1-2 ODAC) over the Generals.
Becca Bolton scored 16 points to go along with a career-high 19 rebounds for W&L (1-3, 1-1).
