Mitchell sets mark, Ferrum loses
FERRUM -- Derek Mitchell had 20 points, 18 rebounds and set Ferrum's career rebound record but the Panthers fell to Eastern Mennonite University 81-66 on Wednesday.
Mitchell eclipsed Mike Robertson, who had 668 rebounds from 1990-93. Mitchell now has 672 career rebounds, just five games into his junior year.
Daryl Hart added 16 points for the Panthers (1-4) and Jerrell Wade had 11 points and six assists.
Eastern Mennonite (5-0) was led by George Johnson with 18 points.
Wisconsin 78, No. 21 Maryland 69
LAHAINA, Hawaii -- Jason Bohannon scored 20 points and Jon Leuer added 16 to lead Wisconsin to a win over Maryland in the third-place game of the Maui Invitational at the Lahaina Civic Center.
Trevon Hughes scored 14 points for the Badgers (4-1), who made 10 of 22 3-pointers, including four from Bohannon.
Greivis Vasquez led Maryland (4-2) with 18 points.
WOMEN
Roanoke 55, Guilford 48
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Jaleesa Osborne led Roanoke (3-0, 1-0 ODAC) with 18 points, five rebounds and four assists in a win over Guilford (2-2, 0-1) on Tuesday at Ragan-Brown Field House.
Jordan Gholson added 10 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks for the Maroons.
NOTE
Dragovic reinstated
LOS ANGELES -- UCLA reinstated Nikola Dragovic on Wednesday after the Serbian forward's two-game suspension for his arrest in an assault case.
Coach Ben Howland cleared the 21-year-old senior to practice with the Bruins on Wednesday, and said he'll play in Thursday's 76 Classic opener in Anaheim against Portland.
