The win was Roanoke's first over Washington and Lee since the 2000 season. Washington and Lee had made an appearance in every ODAC title match since the 1995 season.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

RU's Trifunovic sidelined

Lazar Trifunovic, a Binghamton transfer who had won a starting job with Radford, underwent surgery Friday for a fractured left wrist.

RU coach Brad Greenberg said Trifunovic fell in a workout Sunday. He will miss at least the team's four games this month, including the Nov. 13 opener against Navy and the Nov. 21 game at Duke. He will be back for the "bulk of the season," Greenberg said.

With the 6-foot-8, 225-pound Trifunovic sidelined, Roanoke Catholic's Phillip Martin will start at small forward.
