In the region: Highlanders blank Keydets in men's soccer

RADFORD -- Iyiola Awosika scored twice in the second half for Radford as the Highlanders won 3-0 over VMI in men's soccer action on Wednesday at Cupp Stadium.
James Leith scored the game-winner for the Highlanders (4-6-2, 1-3-2 Big South) in the first half, his third goal in the last four games.
Radford outshot the Keydets (2-10-1, 1-3-1) 12-6 in the second half and 19-10 in the game. VMI goalkeeper Brian Sowell made six saves, with four in the second half.
Radford goalkeeper Ryan Taylor made three saves to earn his third shutout of the year.
Averett 3, Ferrum 1
DANVILLE -- Jo LaPointe-Ridley scored the lone goal for Ferrum (2-10-1, 0-3 USA South).
E. Mennonite 3, W&L 1
LEXINGTON -- Drew Crowley scored early for the Generals (4-5-4, 2-4-2 ODAC) but it wasn't enough to hold off Eastern Mennonite (6-5-5, 4-2-2).
WOMEN'S SOCCER
Roanoke 3, Guilford 0
Gina Valles, Cynthia Suttora and Jessica Welfare each scored goals to lead Roanoke (10-5, 6-3 ODAC) past Guilford (7-10, 4-5).
Lindsay Kooiman tallied four saves in the shutout.
W&L 6, Emory & Henry 0
EMORY -- Anne Masich tallied two goals and an assist, Taylor Garrett had two goals and Kelsy McCraw notched two assists for the Generals (12-1-1, 8-0-1 ODAC).
SWIMMING
Virginia wins dual meet
BLACKSBURG, Va. -- The Virginia women defeated Virginia Tech 180-120 while the Cavalier men won 177-123.
Freshman Lauren Perdue won three events for the Cavaliers while Matt McLean, Dan McMahon and Scot Robison were all double-event winners.
Perdue won the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle events.
Robison picked up a victory in the 100 free and also took top honors in the 50 free.
McLean won the 200 free and 500 free and McMahon won both the 100 fly and 200 fly.
The Hokies divers swept both UVa squads in the one- and three-meter events. Mikey McDonald took the titles in both men's events.
Sarah Milton won the one-meter and Natalie West took first in the three-meter with a school-record performance, scoring 322.50 points.
