W&L outscored by Catholic U.

WASHINGTON -- Catholic University racked up 538 yards of total offense and outscored Washington and Lee 20-0 in the final 20:34 of the game en route to a 48-29 victory over the Generals in ODAC football action on Saturday.

The Generals (4-2, 1-1) rolled up 467 total yards on offense, led by Stuart Sitterson, who rushed 33 times for 163 yards and a career-high four touchdowns. He finished with 273 all-purpose yards.

Quarterback Charlie Westfal rushed for 95 yards on 19 carries and completed 19 of 34 passes for 197 yards, but was intercepted twice in the fourth quarter.

Wide receiver Billy Murray was Westfal's top target, catching four passes for 57 yards.

Tailback Greg Brown led the Cardinals' offense with 211 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 28 carries.

Keith Ricca completed 17 of 26 passes for 287 yards and five touchdowns and an interception, while Miles Sabrick totaled five catches for 100 yards and two touchdowns. Tight end Ryan McManus also snared four passes for 101 yards and one score.

Frostburg St. 21, SVU 13

BUENA VISTA -- Southern Virginia was plagued by five turnovers and 10 penalties to lose its fifth straight game.

Trailing 21-13 with 2:26 remaining, Southern Virginia (1-6) took over on its own 23-yard line. Luke Taylor completed four consecutive passes and Marcus McCollum followed with a 10-yard rush to the Frostburg 39-yard line.

After two incomplete passes, Dutch Barclay rushed 12 yards up the middle to put SVU on the Bobcats' 27. On the next play Taylor got rid of the ball just before being sacked but the pass was tipped and intercepted by Chindy Agugua -- his second pick of the game -- and Frostburg (2-3) took a knee to run out the clock.

Harry Collins had 23 rushes for 108 yards to lead Southern Virginia's rushing attack. McCollum also broke the century mark with 102 yards on 13 carries.

Taylor was 24-for-41 for 235 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions and Brett Petty had a career-high 12 receptions for 93 yards and two touchdowns.

UVa-Wise 61, Campbellsville 41

WISE -- Twelfth-ranked UVa-Wise defensive end Josh Weaver returned a fumble he caused 45 yards on the second play of the game for a touchdown and the offense scored on all six first-half possessions to jump on Campbellsville and go on to a Mid-South East victory.

The Highland Cavaliers (5-1) remained tied at the top of the Mid-South East standings at 3-0, a half game ahead of the University of the Cumberlands (2-0).

Randy Hippeard had an outstanding day with 442 yards on 25-of-40 passing with five scores and one interception.

His favorite target Jason Lovett grabbed all five of his touchdown passes and finished with six receptions for 73 yards. Matt Barbour pulled in five balls for 124 yards and Brad Ricker had three catches for 128 yards.

W&M 38, N. Hampshire 34

DURHAM, N.H. -- Jacob Phillips (Bath County) connected with D.J. McAuley for a 17-yard touchdown with 22 seconds left to lift William and Mary to a win over New Hampshire.

The Wildcats (4-1, 1-1) went ahead 31-28 with 4:40 left in the fourth quarter when Mike Boyle caught a 34 yard touchdown pass from R.J. Toman, who threw for 305 yards and two interceptions. Toman also had a 31-yard passing score to Scott Sicko earlier in the quarter.

But the Tribe (3-2, 1-1) responded with an 11-play, 72-yard drive that was capped by Phillips' game-winning touchdown pass to McAuley, who had five catches for 76 yards. Phillips finished with 310 yards passing, four touchdowns and two interceptions for William and Mary.

Hampden-Sydney 17, Emory & Henry 0

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY -- Hampden-Sydney held Emory & Henry to 119 total yards, 34 through the air, and posted its first shutout since 2002.

The Tigers' defense also forced three turnovers and permitted just six first downs.

Joe Simpson made his return to the H-SC (6-0, 3-0) lineup and rushed for a game-high 86 yards on 26 carries and a touchdown.

Corey Sedlar threw for 329 yards and a touchdown on 27-of-44 accuracy.

Caleb Jennings finished with 75 yards rushing to lead the Wasps (2-3, 0-1).

Liberty 33, Stony Brook 0

LYNCHBURG -- Rashad Jennings rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns to help Liberty remain undefeated.

The Flames (6-0, 2-0) dominated, rolling up 466 yards and holding the Seawolves (1-5, 0-1) to 233. Jennings scored on a 14-yard run to give Liberty a 17-0 halftime lead, and added a 2-yard touchdown run with 12:15 left in the third quarter for a 23-0 lead.

CNU 40, Greensboro 7

NEWPORT NEWS -- Jay Graham kicked four field goals and Tunde Ogun rushed for three touchdowns and 71 yards as Christopher Newport (3-1, 2-0) rolled over Greensboro (2-3, 0-2).

Former Salem High standouts Tony Spradlin and Keith Gaines hooked up on 34-yard TD pass for the Captains.

Averett 31, Methodist 17

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Averett took the early lead and held off the Monarchs to secure the Cougars' first USA South victory of the season.

Averett (2-3, 1-1) quarterback Philip Kwiatkowski, who had missed the last two games because of injury, was 16-for-24 for 165 yards and a touchdown.

Erik Teague completed 14 of 28 passes for 162 yards with one touchdown for the Monarchs (1-4, 0-2).

S.C. St. 24, Norfolk St. 23

ORANGEBURG, S.C. -- Travil Jamison's 1-yard run late in the fourth quarter put South Carolina State (5-2, 3-0) ahead to stay, and Norfolk State came up empty twice in Bulldogs' territory in the fourth quarter as SCSU held on for a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference win.

NSU (2-4, 1-2) would drive into Bulldog territory on its next two possessions following Jamison's score. But Justin Castellat missed a 45-yard field goal with 9:31 left in the game. After a three-and-out by SCSU, the Spartans drove to the Bulldogs' 37. But Phillip Adams intercepted Dennis Brown on third-and-8 with 4:31 left.

NSU recovered a fumble on the Spartans' 42 with 56 seconds remaining in the game. But Brown was sacked on two of the first three plays of the next possession, and a penalty backed the Spartans up to their 17. Brown's desperation pass was picked off at the SCSU 32 as time expired.

Brown was 15-of-26 for 168 yards, and DeAngelo Branche ran 26 times for 94 yards and a TD.

Lake Erie College 47, Apprentice 38

PAINESVILLE, Ohio -- Lake Erie College (2-5) stormed back from a 32-13 deficit in the third quarter to beat Newport News Apprentice (1-4).

Dave Romeo scored three touchdowns for the Storm on a two-yard run and on passes of 25 and 70 yards, the latter giving the Storm a 33-32 lead with less than eight minutes to play.

Virginia Union 68, Lincoln, Pa. 6

RICHMOND -- Brothers Lamar and Royce Little did something that has not been done in CIAA football history, as they both threw a touchdown in Virginia Union's victory over Lincoln (1-5).

Patrick Mills gained 154 yards on 15 carries and scored two touchdowns for the Panthers (5-2, 2-2).

Lamar Little completed 7 of 14 passes for 133 yards and two touchdowns and an interception. Royce Little was 2-for-3 for 36 yards and a score.

Virginia St. 25, St. Paul's 7

PETERSBURG -- Justin Parker kicked three field goals and the Virginia State (3-4, 2-3) defense blocked a punt for a score and had a safety to beat St. Paul's (4-3, 2-2).
