LEXINGTON — Christina Gontarski and Olivia Moore scored to give the Keydets (3-5, 1-0 Big South) their first win over the Flames (0-6, 0-1) in the five-game history of the series.

It was the first time VMI has ever beaten an intrastate Division I rival.

Heidi Beemer had five saves for VMI, which shut out a Big South foe for the first time.
