Cave Spring's Josh Henderson verbals to Vanderbilt
Cave Spring's Josh Henderson -- a 6-foot-11 center who led the Knights to the VHSL Group AA Division 3 basketball championship in March -- has made an oral commitment to play at Vanderbilt.
Henderson said Sunday he chose Vanderbilt over Davidson because the Commodores play in the Southeastern Conference.
"I just wanted to play in the big conference against teams like Florida, Tennessee, LSU and Kentucky," Henderson said.
Henderson, whose final four choices also included Virginia and Wake Forest, averaged 15.9 points, 10.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game last season while shooting 56 percent from the field.
