Virginia Tech men's basketball coach Seth Greenberg has filled the vacancy on his staff by hiring VCU assistant BIll Courtney.

Courtney had been an assistant under UVa coach Dave Leitao. He was hired at VCU when Leitao and his staff lost their jobs after last season.

"To have the opportunity to get right back in the ACC was an opportunity he could not pass up," said George Mason coach Jim Larranaga, a close friend of Courtney's.

Courtney used to serve under Larranaga at George Mason.
