Virginia Tech lands top prospect from Brookville
Virginia Tech has received a commitment for its 2010 football class from Zack McCray, a defensive end from Brookville High School in Lynchburg.
McCray, 6-foot-4 and 236 pounds, is ranked ninth in the country at his position and 95th overall by rivals.com. He is rated the No. 2 prospect in Virginia by The Roanoke Times behind quarterback Phillip Sims of Oscar Smith in Chesapeake.
McCray had narrowed his choices to Tech, Alabama, LSU and North Carolina.
McCray had 80 tackles and 20 sacks this past season for the Bees.
