Hamlin released from hospital
Denny Hamlin was released Monday
morning from a Birmingham, Ala. hospital, Joe Gibbs Racing
announced.
Hamlin spent the night for observation after his
crash in Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Talladega Superpspeedway. Hamlin
crashed when his right front tire blew and sent him into the wall hard. He was
helped by safety officials in exiting the car and placed on a
stretcher.
J.D. Gibbs, president of Joe Gibbs Racing, said
during the race that it appeared Hamlin might have an ankle injury and a
headache. The release from the team Monday morning did not reveal any
injuries.
Hamlin finished 39th.
