Virginia Tech wins NCAA softball tourney opener in 10 innings

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Misty Hall hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to give Virginia Tech a 1-0 victory over Louisville in the first round of the NCAA softball tournament regional at the University of Tennessee on Friday.
James River High School graduate Angela Tincher allowed just one hit and struck out 19 for the Hokies, who will next play Tennessee at noon today, in a game that will be televised on ESPN2.
The Lady Vols defeated Winthrop 3-0 on Friday.
