Another recruit for Hokies
Virginia Beach
running back Tony Gregory, who has been clocked in a blistering 4.37 seconds for
40 yards, is the latest football recruit to commit to Virginia Tech for the
class of 2008.
Gregory, a 6-foot,
185-pounder, rushed for 940 yards as a junior last fall for First Colonial High
School.
Gregory, recruited
for the Hokies by assistant coach Kurt Newsome, began his career as a freshman
on the varsity at Kempsville High School. After transferring to First Colonial,
Gregory shared time as a sophomore but still rushed for between 600 and 700
yards, he said.
He is rated the No.
38 running-back prospect in the country by rivals.com.
