Virginia’s third football commitment for 2008 has come from Tyler Westphal, a 6-foot-6, 230-pound tight end from Menasha, Wis. He is the second player to commit to UVa after attending a junior day Saturday that coincided with the UVa men’s basketball game with Georgia Tech.

On Tuesday, the Cavaliers had received a commitment from Aaron VanKuiken, a 6-foot-7, 285-pound offensive lineman from Turpin High School in Cincinnati, who joined fellow Ohio offensive lineman Matt Mihalik as the first two members of UVa’s 2008 class. Minnesota also had made an offer to Westphal.
