Red Sox roll past Pelicans
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Bryan Price pitched six shutout innings and Luis Exposito reached base all six times he came up to bat, helping the Salem Red Sox to a 10-0 win over the Myrtle Beach Pelicans in a Carolina League baseball game Friday night.
Price, 0-3 with an 8.31 ERA coming into the game, allowed just three hits, no walks and struck out six.
Exposito was 4-for-4 and scored the first run for the Red Sox with a solo home run in the second inning.
David Mailman added a two-run homer in the fifth.
In addition to their 15 hits, the Red Sox also benefitted from 11 walks issued by the Pelicans' pitching staff.
The win put Salem two games up in Southern Division.
