O's drop Pulaski with late surge

The Mariners get their first home victory with three runs in the last two innings to top the Cards.

PULASKI -- The Bluefield Orioles broke open a one-run game by scoring eight runs in the final three innings to down the Pulaski Mariners 10-2 in the first game of a three-game series.

Bluefield (5-5) took the lead with a two-run homer by Luis Ramirez in the third inning, The Orioles outfielder finished with three hits and three RBIs. Javier Santana also recorded three hits, including a solo home run in the seventh, while Cory Thomas led off the eighth inning with a home run for one of his two hits.

Pulaski (2-8) got two hits, including a seventh-inning home run, from Jarrett Burgess. Tommy Johnson recorded two hits and scored a run.

Virginia native Justin Moore picked up the victory for the Orioles, pitching five innings.
