KINSTON, N.C. -- The Salem Red Sox (3-0) completed a three-game series sweep of host Kinston Indians after pulling out a 4-3 victory in 14 innings on Saturday night in Carolina League action.

Salem scored the winning run in the 14th inning with one out on a fielder's choice as Jason Place grounded out to third base, allowing Kris Negron to score.

Salem starting pitcher Casey Kelly was perfect through 6¹₃ innings, until Kinston third baseman Lonnie Chisenhall singled in the seventh inning. Kelly struck out four and issued one hit in seven innings of work, but did not factor in the decision.

Jose Capellan (4-2) picked up the victory in relief.

Josh Papelbon got the save, his second of the season.

Red Sox leadoff hitter Che-Hsuan Lin went 4-for-5 and stole his 15th base of the season.

Tim Federowicz, in his second game with the Red Sox, went 2-for-7 with an RBI. Federowicz had three hits in Friday's victory over the Indians.

Anthony Rizzo and Luis Exposito also had two hits a piece for the Red Sox
