The Phillies announced that manager Charlie Manuel will remain with the team through a potential Game 5 of the NLCS, then fly to Roanoke for the funeral of his mother, June, who died last Friday. The team will charter a flight from Los Angeles for Manuel after Wednesday’s potential Game 5. Manuel and the rest of the family will attend a viewing Thursday night at Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church, and will attend the funeral Friday morning at the church. Manuel would rejoin the team for a potential Game 6 on Friday night in Philadelphia.
