Hillcats blank Salem
LYNCHBURG -- Salem mustered seven hits against Lynchburg starter Matt McSwain, but none when they needed one. McSwain and reliever Ronaldo Uviedo shut out the Avalanche for a 4-0 Carolina League victory on Saturday at City Stadium.
It was the third straight loss for Salem (26-42), which has two games remaining today at 6:05 p.m. and Monday at 2:05 p.m.
Hillcats third baseman Eddie Prasch went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs.
Tim Torres had a pair of singles for Salem.
