DANVILLE, Va. — Ross Francis and Matt Small combined on a no-hitter as the Danville Braves defeated the Pulaski Mariners 1-0 in an Appalachian League called in the seventh inning because of rain at Dan Daniel Memorial Park.

Francis (3-1) struck out 16 and walked two in six innings for the Braves (20-15), which closed to 2 ¹₂ games behind first-place Pulaski (22-12) in the East Division. Small worked a third of an inning for this third save.

Danville scored the only run in the third inning on a wild pitch by Brooks Mohr.
