Salem returns to action with win
WILMINGTON, Del. -- Salem returned to play with a flurry, scoring all of its runs in the first four innings on the way to a 6-3 Carolina League victory over the Wilmington Blue Rocks on Thursday.
Of the Avalanche's nine hits, seven were for extra bases, including a two-run home run by Cesar Quintero in the fourth inning that capped off the scoring and put Salem up 6-2.
Wilmington (1-6) scored twice in the first inning to go up 2-1, but gave up single runs in the second and third innings to surrender the lead.
Jordan Parraz had two doubles for Salem (3-4). Collin DeLome added a double and triple. Koby Clemens had two hits and two RBIs.
Mark Ori also had an RBI double and a sacrifice fly.
Douglas Arguello picked up his fourth victory of the season, striking out seven, while allowing three earned runs and walking one.
