WILMINGTON, Del. -- Joe Dickerson hit a two-run home run in the 11th inning to lift Wilmington over Salem 3-1 in a Carolina League game on Tuesday night.

The home run to right field was Dickerson's third of the season for the Blue Rocks (14-17).

Jhon Florentino had two hits for Salem (13-18), which has lost four straight games.

NOTE

Catcher Sal Iacona has retired. He went 4-for-16 with two doubles and two RBIs in eight games with the Avalanche this season.

Catcher Kevin Carkeek and infielder Roberto Mena joined the Avalanche in Wilmington, Del., on Tuesday.

Carkeek hit .187 in 13 games with low-A Lexington in the South Atlantic League this spring.

Mena, who replaces Wladimir Sutil who was called up to Double-A Corpus Christi last week, hit .190 in 17 games with the Legends.
