ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. - Jesus Ugueto scored Isaiah Yates with a sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning for the eventual game-winning run as the Pulaski Mariners defeated the Elizabethton Twins 4-2 at Joe O'Brien Field Thursday.
After Ugueto hit a solo home run in the top of the fourth to give Pulaski a 1-0 lead, the Twins received solo homers from Rory Rhodes and Bryan Haar to give Elizabethon a 2-1 lead.
Pulaski rallied in the eighth to take the lead when Jeffrey Zimmerman lashed an RBI single to tie the score before Ugueto's sacrifice fly.
Yates g ave Pulaski needed insurance when he was walked with the bases loaded in the top of the ninth.
The win, coupled with Bluefield's 9-1 loss to Kingsport gives the Mariners a half game lead in the Appalachian League's Eastern Division.
