ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. — Pulaski extended a sudden losing streak, falling 5-1 to the Elizabethton Twins on Wednesday.
Since defeating Kingsport 15-0 on Sunday, the Mariners have lost three straight . The losses put the Mariners (40-26) one game back of Bluefield, which has also dropped three straight as the season draws to a close.
The Twins (36-30) took a first-inning lead when Mitch Garver singled in Zach Granite and Engelb Vielma.
Pulaski cut the lead to one in the second inning when Wilton Martinez hit a solo home run to left, the only Mariners offense of the night.
Elizabethton sealed the win with a three-run fifth, highlighted by Zach Granite racing home on a wild pitch.
Starter Kuo Hua Lo (2-1) earned the win for the Twins with five strikeouts and three hits allowed in six innings.
The Mariners face Elizabethton today in their second-to-last game of the regular season.
