PRINCETON, W.Va - Tyler Smith tripled, homered and drove in three runs and Emilio Pagan held off a late Rays' rally attempt as the Mariners beat Princeton 5-4 at Hunnicutt Field.
Hunter Lockwood's fifth homer of the year staked Princeton to an early 1-0 lead before Pulaski erupted for five runs in the fourth and fifth innings.
Back-to-back triples by Smith and Wilton Martinez gave Pulaski a 2-1 lead, while Luke Guarnaccia doubled in a run to make the score 3-1 Pulaski. Smith's two-run homer in the fifth made the score 5-1.
Lockwood scored on a throwing error in the sixth to trim the lead to two.
In the bottom of the eighth, David Garcia singled home a run and Coty Blanchard walked with the bases loaded to make the lead 5-4.
Leoncio Munoz (6-0) relieved Edwin Diaz and scored his sixth victory of the year. Pagan earned his 11th save of the season.
German Marquez (1-4) took the loss for Princeton.
