PULASKI - The Pulaski Mariners scored six runs in the first two innings and coasted to an 8-4 victory over the Bristol White Sox at Calfee Park on Sunday.
White Sox starter Chris Freudenberg (0-2) struck out Mariners' leadoff hitter Aaron Barbosa, but a passed ball allowed Barbosa to reach first base.
The flood gates opened as Barbosa stole second and third and scored on a single by Gabrial Franca.
Tyler Smith doubled, Wilton Martinez knocked in two with a single, Jeffrey Zimmerman drove in another with a triple and Jesus Ugueto drove in a run with a sacrifice fly to make the score 5-0 after one inning.
The Mariners added a run in the second on an RBI groundout from Smith.
Bristol finally got on the board in the third inning thanks to an RBI single from Carl Thomore.
The Mariners added runs on a passed ball and an RBI single by Daniel Torres.
Ramire Cleto (4-2) got the win for the Mariners, who will enjoy a day off today before visiting the Kingsport Mets on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
