PULASKI - Wilton Martinez' fourth home run of the season gave the Mariners a four run lead after six innings, and relievers Leoncio Munoz and Emilio Pagan staved off a Blue Jay rally to give Pulaski a 7-6 win Monday in the series finale at Calfee Park.
Kristian Brito gave the Mariners an early 2-0 lead with a two-run double in the first inning.
Bluefield countered with a Jesus Gonzalez RBI double in the third, followed by an RBI single by D. J. Davis and an RBI double from Tim Locastro to give the Blue Jays a 3-2 lead in the top of the fifth.
Pulaski regained the lead 4-3 in the bottom of the frame when Brito singled home Tyler Smith and Zach Shank doubled home Joseph DeCarlo, setting the stage for Martinez' homer in the bottom of the sixth.
Bluefield narrowed the lead to one in the seventh with another RBI from Locastro and a two-run single from Jonathan Davis, but could get no closer.
Former Virginia Tech pitcher Eddie Campbell started for Pulaski and gave up three runs on three hits with seven strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings but did not factor in the decision.
Johnson City visits Pulaski to open up a three-game series on Wedneday at 7 p.m.
