Jazzed up

Dee Roberts (above left) and Charlie Perkinson perform jazz music during dinner at the Smith Mountain Arts Councils' Swing-n-Jazz Festival at W.E. Skelton 4-H Center in Wirtz Saturday. Perkinson performed earlier on bass with Blue Ridge Jazz Ensemble. Because of bad weather, the ensemble's performance scheduled for the Willard Amphitheater was moved indoors. About 80 to 90 people attended the second annual festival.

Fancy footwork

The award-winning Old Dominion Cloggers performed during Music in the Park at SML State Park last weekend. Their performances have enthralled hundreds during their frequent exhibitions at the Park's Beach Pavilion. Sponsored by Friends of SML State Park, the group will return on July 26 and Aug. 23.
