Did they pick the right house? Tell us what you think

If you tuned into HGTV's "House Hunters" show on Tuesday, you know Smith Mountain Lake and new part-time lake residents Craig and Patricia Merrills were featured. If you missed it, it's probably because the network, popular with homeowners, didn't release the airing schedule until it was too late to publicize in local media.

The episode followed the couple, who live in Washington, D.C., on their quest to purchase a weekend getaway home on the SML waterfront.

On the show, which was filmed last fall, the Merrills looked at three competing homes and, in the final moments, revealed their pick. Paul Moore, a real estate agent with Wainwright and Company, also appeared on the show. The couple chose the second house featured -- a sprawling ranch on a cove that featured a large yard and wood paneling inside.

Did they chose the right house? Let us know which house you liked best: 1: a three-bedroom ranch with 300 feet of waterfront; 2: a ranch on a cove with large yard, wood paneling and pool table (the one they selected); or 3: an A-frame with scenic views of the lake but steep stairs to the dock. You can also tell us if you think the show did justice to Smith Mountain Lake. E-mail your choice and comments to editor@smithmountainlake.com

In the June 27 edition of Laker Weekly we'll reveal the readers' top choice, and we'll tell you what Moore and the Merrills have to say about the show and if the couple, nearly a year later, are happy with their choice.
