After picking up her degree, this quiet daughter of two teachers is off to advance the uses of chemical, biological and nuclear warfare. Winters, 22, will be joining the Army Chemical Corp.

She's already quite aware of the negative impacts of one fermented chemical compound on her own body.

"I'm a terrible liquor holder," she said when asked what her classmates might remember her for.

But the chemistry/biochemistry major's long-term goal is the Infectious Disease Department of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In the long run, she'd rather use what she knows to save people.

"I am getting that job if I have to kill everyone in line," she said wryly.
