EPA sets up tire fire help center, line
A community relations trailer and information line were established Friday to help citizens with concerns about the Roanoke County tire fire.
Vance Evans, spokesman for the Environmental Protection Agency, said a trailer has been set up at the fire command post, beside the soccer field across from Penn Forest Elementary School.
The trailer will be open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Evans said. Anyone with questions or concerns is invited to stop by.
Evans said a community information line has also been established, and the line also will be staffed seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Outside of those hours, an answering service will be available for citizens to leave messages.
The community information line number is (540) 772-0542.
