Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has added a second Virginia stop to his schedule for Wednesday, this one a public town hall-style meeting in Lynchburg.

Obama also will appear earlier in the day in Martinsville for an invitation-only event with U.S. Senate candidate Mark Warner.

The Lynchburg event will take place at 6:35 p.m. at E.C. Glass High School. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required. Tickets can be obtained from the Obama campaign field office at 1125 Main St. in Lynchburg from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.

U.S. Sen. Jim Webb will appear with Obama at the Lynchburg event, which will focus on Obama's economic plans.

Obama is making an aggressive push to win Virginia, a state no Democratic presidential candidate has carried since 1964. Polls have the race between Obama and Republican John McCain in a statistical dead heat.

Warner, who will appear with Obama in Martinsville, has been tapped to deliver the keynote speech next Tuesday at the Democratic National Convention in Denver. Gov. Tim Kaine, a national co-chairman of Obama's campaign, is believed to be under consideration for the vice presidential slot on Obama's ticket.
